The Mobies are presented annually by CNET Networks Games & Entertainment to recognize excellence in mobile entertainment innovation, design, and technical achievement. The 2005 Mobie Award wireless game winners were chosen from more than 160 submissions and judged by a panel of CNET Networks editorial experts on criteria including: gameplay, aesthetic value, and replay-ability. Tower Bloxx was named Best Puzzle Game and WordKing Poker was named Best Board/Card Game. This is the third major industry award for both Tower Bloxx and WordKing Poker. Tower Bloxx recently won Editors’ Choice Awards from both IGN and Wireless Gaming World, while WordKing Poker was recently awarded an Editors’ Choice Award from GameSpot and a Forum Nokia PRO Award – recognizing the game and Digital Chocolate for significant contributions to innovation in the mobility industry. Both games have also received numerous top-rated reviews. “We are thrilled to have Tower Bloxx and WordKing Poker be recognized yet again for their innovative, quality content and superior game play,” said Trip Hawkins, founder and CEO of Digital Chocolate. “Both games have been a favorite of consumers and operators for months, so we are extremely pleased to have the mobile industry and the mobile gaming media commend us for developing games that truly satisfy consumers’ needs for an entertaining and unique mobile gaming experience.” Tower Bloxx is an addictive puzzle game that invites users to test their reflexes and their puzzle skills by quickly constructing skyscrapers while dodging fierce winds and crazed tenants. Single-button game play and Digital Chocolate’s popular mobile league, has made the game a favorite among mobile consumers. Digital Chocolate's WordKing Poker combines spelling competition with the fast-paced action of poker. Players compete in three different games modes – Hold ‘em, Five Card Draw and Seven Card Stud – to out-spell opponents using the lettered cards in their hand. The game allows players to compete against friends in four-player hot seat mode or up to six computer opponents. Players can also post their scores against others on Digital Chocolate's exclusive online Mobile League. | ||
