Digital Chocolate, Inc., a leading publisher of software for mobile phones, today announced the expansion of its global distribution networks to over 200 partners in 60 countries. To meet global demand for top-quality products that are specifically “made for mobile,” the company recently launched its first products through several new mobile carriers, including Sprint PCS in the United States, Vodafone KK in Japan, four service providers in China, and Vivo in Brazil.

'Digital Chocolate already has the highest quality ratings of any U.S.-based publisher,' said Trip Hawkins, CEO of Digital Chocolate. 'And we are successfully developing new brands as the new mobile mass market evolves and matures beyond the realm of hard-core gamers. In one year Digital Chocolate has become one of the top 10 independent mobile publishers in terms of global market reach. Our 200 partners on a combined basis reach an audience of more than one billion mobile phone users.'

Digital Chocolate is also expanding the breadth of its international reach by distributing its products in countries such as Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, Croatia and Chile; and counts major operators such Cingular, Orange, Sprint, T-Mobile, 3, Verizon Wireless, and Vodafone as distribution partners. The company is also rapidly extending its breadth within individual countries as evidenced by its recent distribution agreements in Canada with all major operators, including Rogers, Bell Mobility, Telus and Virgin Mobile Canada.

'Highly-rated games built specifically for the mobile market, like those in Digital Chocolate’s Racing Fever franchise, translate well internationally, offering our subscribers the engaging mobile experiences they crave,' said Andre Mafra, Content Manager at Vivo, the leading operator in Brazil.

'Reaching this milestone proves that the market is responding to our successful product approach,' adds Hawkins. 'Carriers recognize a shift from hardcore to casual gamers, more of whom are women. This new mass market wants games they can play and win fast, hopefully with one hand and one finger, and that they can share with others. We may be technically advanced with support for 3D graphics, Mobile League communities, and 3G services, but we also recognize that the mobile lifestyle requires a unique new software experience that meets our modern social needs.'
